Project Management
Our experienced Projects team have a proven track history of delivering projects to time, cost and scope.
Schedule, scope, and cost are tied together in such a way that no one can be adjusted without consequences to the other two areas. Projects that last too long cost more money and projects delivered on a budget take longer.
Our Project Management approach is aligned to the Association of Project Managers (APM) and the team has successfully delivered complex projects under a number of commercial models, including the NEC suite of contracts.
Our team have used CEMAR®, an electronic contract management system for the management of the projects. We also have a full suite of procedures and project templates available to implement projects which do not use CEMAR® and also we have experience working only to client procedures.
Our project managers all have an engineering background so offer a different perspective on delivery.
Project Services
At VEP, our teams have years of experience in tracking the progress of a project through KPIs, such as SPI & CPI. Projects are successful when the Project Manager understands the current status and out-turn status of a project. VEP are able to use tried and tested models for tracking performance, analysis of data, risk management, planning and cost management.
We can also provide forensic checks of live projects and have the experience to take projects from cradle to grave.
Project Health Checks
VEP has the experience and knowledge of projects to provide your company with an independent health check. Led by a Chartered Project Manager, the team are able to understand the project requirements and needs and check if there are any areas for improvement or adjustment.
VEP can provide specialist advice at any stage of a project, from concept development and bid management through the project lifecycle to close-out and lesson learnt reviews.
Learning From Experience
VEP has the experience and knowledge of projects to provide your company with a bespoke learning from Experience (LFE) service, tried and tested to deliver results.
Our approach is based on proven models that we have successfully deployed within other major nuclear Client organisations.
Data Gathering & Discovery
Initially, once we have mobilised the Team and undertaken an integrated Kick-Off meeting we typically commence a period of discovery – data gathering, understanding and analysis. We will seek and request supporting programme data, background information, technical data, scoping documents, etc. to enable us to set out the introductory and contextual sections of the final report and develop terms of reference and interviews with key personnel
Development of the Final Report
Our team will begin to collate and structure the report, working collaboratively to extract the key findings, observations, themes and learning. This will enable the development of the outline structure and tracking of the key findings, etc
The completed document, having been reviewed and iterated throughout its development, will undergo a final editorial review. To ensure alignment to requirements, accuracy and completeness, the final report document can also be submitted to Independent Technical Review, by a SQEP reachback if required.
